GREAT LAKES AREA RANGER TUGS/CUTWATER BOATS 2024 RENDEZVOUS – Traverse City, Michigan

– We just put a wrap on our eighth Great Lakes Area Ranger Tugs 2024 Rendezvous. It was again at Clinch Park Marina, in our hometown of Traverse City this year.

It has been a couple of years since Traverse City has seen so many Ranger Tugs in one place at once. Seventeen boats of all sizes and 48 people joined us (some came by land) for social activities and presentations from sponsors, including a session by Jared Dunning from the Ranger Tugs Factory. Jared spent all three days of the event walking the docks, talking to owners, getting on their boats, answering questions, or creating a plan to address the problem.

Why Attend A Rendezvous?

Our rendezvous is beneficial to our fellow Ranger Tug and Cutwater Boat attendees because we provide an opportunity for owners to connect socially with people who have similar boats and possibly similar interests. It is a good way to learn, from each other and the presenters, more about their boats, accessories, and cruising adventures.

Another benefit of trailering your boat to a boat rendezvous is the ability to try other cruising grounds besides the ones close to home. Some of our attendees either cruised in the area before the rendezvous or after. Some of the locations we heard boats were headed after the rendezvous were… Beaver Island, Door County in Green Bay, and Northport. Other locations one could cruise to would be… Leland, Charlevoix, Harbor Springs, Mackinac Island, and many other small coastal towns of Michigan.

Many Thanks!

Thank you to our Sponsors …Fluid Motion, Garmin, Reed Yacht Sales, and Global Marine Insurance. This event would not have been a reality without their support. Also, thank you to Lisa & Gary Vidor of America’s Great Loop Cruisers’ Association (AGLCA) for coming to speak and share information about cruising the Great Loop boating adventure.

On the second night, we always play “Last Person Standing” a card game to win boating-related prizes. The last person standing got a $250 logo wear apparel from Fluid Motion. Pam Stave (below-left), on “Shenanigans” won that prize this time.
