Touring The Burdwood Group Conservancy – Broughton Islands – BC, Canada

Looking Forward to Returning to the Burdwood Group Conservancy –
Not sure what it is about the Burdwood Group Conservancy that stayed with me over the years, but I made sure it got onto our list of “Places to Revisit” while in the Broughton Archipelago.
During our first visit, we had the perfect day for a cruise and ended up in this scenic grouping of islands. We didn’t spend the night, but we spent the larger part of the afternoon having lunch and just taking in the area’s beauty on a warm summer’s day.
This time, another gorgeous day lay ahead of us as we left our three-day anchorage in Laura Bay and took a slow cruise to the cluster of islands that make up the Burdwood Group Conservancy. We anchored in the same spot as last time. Surrounding islands include Denham Island, Walker Islet, and several other unnamed islands and islets. This group of islands sits between Gilford and Broughton islands at the entrance to Tribune Channel on the southern Central Coast of British Columbia.
One island has a white beach, which we anchored off of, and behind us was that beautiful, pointy mountain we remembered so well from last time. We couldn’t get enough of the variety of mountain shapes we encountered as we relaxed on the cockpit of Kismet while eating lunch, and watching a sizable group of kayakers making their way around the group of islands. We didn’t stay long because we also wanted to cruise up Kingcome Inlet that afternoon before we scouted out an anchorage for the night.
