Plenty of Room While Anchoring in Laura Bay

Beautiful Cruise While On Our Way to Anchor in Laura Bay –
The surroundings in this area of the Broughton’s are not very mountainous, but it is beautiful none-the-less. Stern-tying is pretty much the norm in the anchorage in Laura Bay. There were two boats anchored when we arrived, so there was plenty of room to choose a suitable spot to tie up to the trees on shore. Shortly after we got settled, one boat left the bay and soon thereafter another; a good-sized yacht pulled in on the far side of the bay from us.
Jim flew the drone over the trees behind us. Sometimes it’s fun to get the drone up above the trees just to see what’s on the other side. Lots of islands everywhere!
Jim got the paddle-board out and explored around the perimeter of the bay and into a lagoon just behind where we anchored. He initially hoped for a bear sighting; however, they still seem to elude us.
We have had amazing weather so far during this trip to the Broughton Islands. The glassy smooth saltwater beneath us makes for gorgeous photography opportunities and peaceful nights of slumber. Fingers crossed that this weather continues!
